The staff writer went to London to interview V.P. of Global Marketing Saul Klein, the writer had a few words about how he got the address info and posted 2 pictures.
2 comment were made to this post:
What kind of a useless article is this?
Who gives a flying of where a company is at?
How much are you paid for doing the SF-London trip and take a picture of a door bell?
- How did the interview go?
- What do you bring back in terms of meaningful content???
Thank you for wasting my time on this one!
And the 2nd:
This was really funny. Will this force them to move elsewhere? And JC, haven’t you read the article already?
Ouch.!!
It is not sure that Skype London Office is still there, they might have been long gone
after the address was revealed.
Thanks to the comment!

What Other Features Available Using Skype?
What Other Features Are Available Using Skype?
Skype, in addition to its popular calling services, has also incorporated several features into its service. Here are just samples of what Skype has to offer.
A new feature of Skype is called Skype Web. It allows Skype users to display their Skype online status on a Web page, email, blog, any other HTML enabled content or any other Internet-enabled application. To take advantage of this feature, you need to opt-in to show your online status to everyone. Go to Skype; select tools from the menu; and choose options.
Under the privacy settings, you will need to check the option to “Allow my status to be shown on the web”. Then, click on the link to get a Skype Button for your webpage. Visit
http://www.skype.com/share/buttons and follow the instructions to get a status-aware Skype button.
SkypeMe mode is another feature of Skype which allows everyone else on Skype to know that you are available and interested in talking or chatting. This includes people, who you do not know, or you have not authorized, but who can find you by searching the Skype directory.
Skype Me mode disables your privacy settings and allows anyone to contact you, whether you’ve authorized them or not. Your privacy settings are restored as soon as you leave Skype Me mode.
The Skype Web Toolbars is another great feature which allow you to combine Skype with Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox. It is a great tool to search for people or businesses, and call them with one click, using Skype.
What Is Skype SMS
SkypeSMS is a quick and easy means by which you can get in touch with friends when they are not online or unavailable by sending messages via your computer. In addition, it is quite inexpensive.
As with SkypeOut, you need to buy Skype credit in order to use SkypeSMS. The procedure is very easy, just go to your account page and click on the link in the tools menu in Skype. Select the amount of Skype credit you need to buy and make the payment using any major credit card.
You are probably asking, “How does it work?” Simply go to Skype, and from the file menu select tools, then “Send SMS message” and simply follow the steps. You can send SMS to your Skype contacts if they have added their mobile numbers to their profile or simply to phones that are SMS enabled. You can even send the same SMS to more than one friend at a time.
Here is an example of how you would use SkypeSMS. First, make sure you have the latest version of Skype. You can always upgrade, free, if you have an earlier version. Obtain the credit as mentioned earlier. Open the SMS window and on the file menu select tools, then send SMS message. The SMS window will open to allow you to add the name(s) of the person you are sending the message to.
You have the ability to send SMS messages to SkypeOut users or Skype users if they have added their numbers in their profile. Another great feature with SkypeSMS is that you can send the same SMS to multiple people by selecting their names and clicking add. You can also enter a phone number directly to send an SMS message to that number using the number entry field.
Now you can type the SMS message you wish to send. The cost to send your message will be displayed in the bottom of the SMS window. When you are finished, click Send SMS and your message will be on its way.

What Is Skype Call Forwarding?
Most of you already have call forwarding on your regular phones. With Skype call forwarding, the same system applies. You can answer your Skype calls when you are not online, or are traveling, away from home; or from anywhere you are.
The benefits derived by Skype call forwarding enables you to receive calls wherever you are; divert calls to three numbers at the same time, and pay with the Skype credit to forward calls to regular phones.
The only time you pay if for calls you choose to forward to your regular or mobile phones. The charges are listed under th SkypeOut. SkypeOut rates page available on Skype’s website. You pay for the call forwarding service the same way you pay for SkypeOut service. You buy the credit from your account page or directly from the Skype software available.
Here’s how it works. When you are not on Skype, your calls can be forwarded to a regular phone or mobile phone. Remember, you will need the latest version of Skype for Windows in order to proceed. Open the options window on Skype, click on tools, options and select call forwarding and voicemail tab.
Enter the phone number you want the calls forwarded to. Ensure that you enter the number exactly as you would when calling from a regular phone. You can also have your calls forwarded to more than one number by clicking on advanced settings, and entering the list of numbers. Be sure to click on save when you are finished so that your calls will be forwarded to the numbers you selected.
That’s it! If you run into a problem, Skype has an online guide as well as other tools to help you to have a fun experience using call forwarding.
What Is SkypeIn?
SkypeIn™ is a Skype feature which allows you to receive your own telephone number. This is beneficial when your friends or family members do not have Skype service and want to call you by dialing a regular number.
Here is an example: Let’s assume you have a New York based SkypeIn number, but you are temporarily living in London. Your friends, family members, or business associates can dial your SkypeIn number, and you will automatically receive the call in London! Here is the best part: if any of the people mentioned call, they would only pay the price of a call to New York
Another example of the SkypeIn service is if people from anywhere in the world calls your SkypeIn number, and your number is in the US and they call from another country, they pay for the price of an international call. You can also arrange to receive up to ten SkypeIn numbers in different locations.
In addition, to make your SkypeIn experience more enhanced, it comes with a free Skype Voicemail subscription. Let’s say a cousin calls you, but you’re not online, he can leave a voicemail message. You will be able to listen to it when you are available.
It is well worth noting here that the Skype Voicemail service is still being tested, therefore, be aware there may be some initial problems. Remember, you can get up to ten SkypeIn numbers in total from United States, United Kingdom, Brazil, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Poland, Sweden and Switzerland. As we speak, Skype is working on having additional numbers available in many more countries around the world.
SkypeIn is a fantastic service which allows anyone, anywhere to call you even if they do not have Skype service. Think about it! You may also want to call everyone you know and tell them about Skype and the features it offers. They may also want to subscribe to this unique and extremely popular service!
What Is SkypeOut
Another unique feature in the Skype service is called SkypeOut. This allows you to call your friends or family members on regular phones and mobile phones for free, within US and Canada. Even these calls are entirely free until the end of the year, wouldn’t it be great for you to be able to call all of your family and friends during the holiday season absolutely free!
With SkypeOut, you can make international calls to friends and family members as well you have regular and mobile phones. You will have to pay local rates, as well as buy Skype Credit to make international calls. To obtain more information, log on to Skype today. Note: To use SkypeOut service, ensure you have the latest version of Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Pocket PC.
If you are wondering how to get started, it is quite simple. If you are located in the US or Canada, and want to call local numbers, all you have to do is to open up Skype, enter the phone number, hit the green call button and start talking. Did we mention these calls are free until the end of 2006?
If you need to make calls internationally, go to your account page and click on the link in the tools menu in Skype. Select the amount of Skype credit you need to buy and make the payment using any major credit card. Return to Skype; enter the phone number, click the green button and your conversation can begin. Note: if you run out of credit, just return to your account page and buy more. Skype credit remains active for 180 days after your last SkypeOut call.
How much does it cost? With Skype, you receive a straight price per minute to call wherever your family or friends are. No matter what day, time, weekday or weekend, the price is the same. Because this has become such a popular feature, Skype has also come out with one rate for the 20 most popular destinations: the SkypeOut Global rate which incurs a cost of 2.1 cents per minute. How terrific is that?
Again, this is one service that can’t be beat. Log on to Skype.com to check out this feature.
How Do I Make a Call Using VoIP Service?
The first step is to install the software. Downloading Skype will allow you to try out the service for free. If you have a computer with a soundcard, the only other tools you will need are a mic and headset. However, if you already have these, your cost to try out this service will be next to nothing. It will also give you the time you need to determine if you are happy with VoIP or not.
Let’s review how to make a call using VoIP. Very simply, you go online, pull up the software, and type in the party’s name and number. If the party is available, they will be alerted on their computer screen that there is a caller, and it will display who is calling as well. The connection is made and the conversation can begin.
There is an additional VoIP service which should be mentioned. Your service provider may provide you with a router, which allows you to connect your regular telephone to your DSL, Cable or Broadband service. This router will also afford you the opportunity to connect more than one computer to the same Broadband service. The good news is that this setup is free of charge. While you will need your computer to initially set up the service, you can then use your traditional telephone to make calls without the computer.
Is this service becoming a more viable need in your home or business? Go online, research VoIP and its providers. Talk to friends or business associates to receive feedback on their providers and features. Ask many questions such as: “Is there a problem with the clarity of the calls?” “Do you hear any echoes?” “Did you experience any dropped calls?” The more you know, the more educated you will become when taking the leap and signing up with a VoIP service provider.
